Joel Magnes, C.S., of Vancouver, Washington will present the Association address during our in-person meeting at First Church of Christ, Scientist in Atlanta.
We will have online Zoom and call-in options for those who are unable to attend in person.
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Atlanta is the oldest Christian Science church in the South (original church edifice dedicated in 1899 and current edifice built in 1914), it is located in Midtown Atlanta in the Arts District, which includes the High Museum of Art, Atlanta Symphony Hall and the Woodruff Arts Center.
About our Speaker
Joel Magnes, C.S.
A former actor and opera singer, Joel worked for the Mother Church for three years in New York at World Monitor Magazine’s advertising sales office. He has been in the public practice of Christian Science since 1989 and has contributed poems, articles, testimonies and interviews to the print, radio and online editions of our periodicals and has shared numerous Daily Lifts.
Joel served for nine years as Committee on Publication for Minnesota and was on the Christian Science Board of Lectureship in 1998 as a broadcast lecturer. He has given talks at Christian Science institutions and conducted workshops at nursing facilities. Having served his branch churches in nearly all capacities, Joel has also served for many years as practitioner at several Christian Science camps.
